Vision Statement -Developement

Many of us were shocked when we heard that Chichester District Council had plans to build around 70 houses on greenfield sites in Fittleworth.  Fortunately the strategy which included these plans was found unsound by a Government inspector but, of course, the danger has not disappeared, it has simply been delayed.

The Parish Council's position, which reflects the majority view expressed by residents in the Questionnaire completed in September last year, is that over the next 18 years no more than 10 houses should be built in the Village and that these should all be affordable homes built on either brownfield or infill sites, preferably for local families. There should be no building on greenfield sites
